OK - I LOVE playing in manual. I never thought I would see myself write that.... She needs some post editing, but that is for a later time... I did lighten this slightly in PSE.

Playing with Textures!
Thanks to Kim I have used my first texture layer in PS!! Our project for Mamarazzi this month is before and after, so it has motivated me to learn a few new tricks... This layer is from Ninian Lis.

Last day before Summer Vacation Begins...
Ruby and I went to the Arboretum this morning. I have wanted to take some photos of her in a white dress this spring. We had a gorgeous day and a wonderful morning taking in the beauty of the blooms. These are two of my favorites from our fun photo shoot! I took them both with my beloved portrait lens.

The Beauty in a Dandelion!
I know to some this shot just looks out of focus.. But, I just love how it turned out. We had 50 per mile winds here today.... Ruby is fascinated with Dandelions... She pulled this one for me!!! She just makes me smile... I love how she has the gift to see the beauty in everything!

Her Softer Side....
I don't know what it is about this photo, but I love it. I love how soft it is. Not my intention when I took it. I was playing with settings.. I just brightened it up slightly in PS this morning....This was taken from below her while she was playing on the kitchen counter with the water...

Spring!
Our first warm day since early November! Ruby was outside in her capri's picking up rocks, berries, and pine cones! I shot all of these in Aperature Priority. ISO 200-400. I am practicing on these sunny days for the Mexico photo sessions!!!

Just B&W Today...

OK - I am giving up on the 365.. Too much going on right now to consistently post.. I will just turn this into a journal of photos I love, and photography projects as I strive to improve my skills.
A few favorites here from "Tea with Ruby" on March 3rd. Our assignment for Mamarazzi this month is B&W.. Here are some I was considering... I have a lot to learn about post-editing... First I need to find TIME!!!! :)
